Hey, I’m Jack! I am a junior majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Spanish and Sustainable Business. I joined the music blog because I love talking about my favorite music! While working with the blog I have enjoyed covering the local Eugene music scene through photography and artist interviews.
In The Court of the Crimson King serves as a key blueprint for the progressive rock explosion of the 70’s. The UK based band, King Crimson, produced this as their debut album. Since its release, it has gained a massive cult following and extensive critical acclaim. The melodies of this album are awe inspiring and bizarre at times with distorted instruments and vocals. King Crimson uses the basic rock instruments such as guitar, bass, and drums but also throws in flute and screeching saxophones which adds to the outlandish nature of this project. Spine tingling crescendos and drum rolls excite the high points of the album while strange and distant sounds dominate the lows. In general the uniqueness of this album blows me away and I haven’t heard anything quite like it.
